Dagupan Baywalk now with solar lights
PEOPLE can now stroll at night along the One Bonuan Baywalk—spanning the three barangays of Bonuan Gueset, Bonuan Boquig and Bonuan Binloc—with the completion of the Solar Lights Project funded by the Tourism Infrastructure Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).
Initiated by former Fourth District Rep. Christopher de Venecia, the lights are set to be turned over by TIEZA to the Dagupan City government through Mayor Belen Fernandez.
A resolution has been passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod authorizing Fernandez to receive the project and expressing the city’s gratitude to TIEZA for its support in advancing tourism, safety and community development.
The resolution, authored by Councilors Karlos Reyna and Michael Fernandez, stated that the project was undertaken in line with the mandate of TIEZA to develop and supervise tourism infrastructure that fosters economic growth, cultural vibrancy, environmental sustainability, and enhanced public safety.
The installation of solar lights along what is currently the longest bicycle lane throughout the country is intended to strengthen Dagupan as a premier tourist destination, improve security and safety for residents and visitors, and demonstrate the city’s commitment to sustainable and climate-resilient infrastructure.
