NEWLY elected Mayor Patrick Agustin Caramat of Calasiao commended municipal employees, particularly members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) for refusing bribes and standing firm in their commitment to public service.

He praised the MDRRMO staff, led by Ed Villacorta, after receiving positive feedback from residents about their integrity and efficiency during emergencies.

Marami po ang humanga sa kanila dahil tumatanggi silang tumanggap ng kahit anong suhol,” the mayor said in his address during last Monday’s flag-raising ceremony.

The mayor emphasized that he wants this ethical standard of a “No Take Policy” to become the norm across all government offices, especially in social services.

Caramat also cited improvements in traffic flow and urged continued discipline despite reports that the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) was being “too strict.”

He acknowledged limitations in enforcement powers due to the absence of a specific ordinance on issuing tickets but assured that police officers will support POSO personnel on the ground who will be trained further.

Caramat also noted alarming conditions at the public market, assuring constituents that issues will be addressed including cleanliness and readiness in their respective offices. (Eva Visperas)
