12 nonagenarians in Pozorrubio receive cash gifts
A dozen nonagenarians received a cash gift incentive of P10,000 each in Pozorrubio on June 25 from the local government in line with the implementation of Republic Act 11982, also known as the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024.
The distribution of cash incentives was led by Mayor Kelvin Chan, in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and Health Committee Chairman Councilor Dennis Uy, through key programs supported by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Meanwhile, 39 solo parents were granted cash subsidies. The amount varied based on the number of months since their official registration as solo parents, with ₱1,000 per month.
Also, a former person deprived of liberty (PDL) received ₱10,000 under the Self-Employment Assistance program, aimed at supporting his reintegration and livelihood efforts.
Chan reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding and prioritizing programs that bring direct benefits to the people of Pozorrubio, including those in special sectors.
Residents who know eligible individuals who have not yet received benefits under these programs are encouraged to submit a valid ID and birth certificate to the MSWDO or their local Barangay Daycare Workers for future inclusion. (Eva Visperas)
