Rep. Toff de Venecia makes final check on projects
FOURTH District Rep. Christopher “Toff” de Venecia is making the final rounds to check on projects he initiated as he wraps up a nine-year term in Congress that will end on June 30.
His first stop was the Tondaligan Baywalk in Dagupan City, which is undergoing rehabilitation for portions damaged by Typhoon Kristine last year.
He was joined by Engr. Larry Flores, regional assistant division chief of the Department of Public Works (DPWH) in inspecting the project, with its 1.2-kilometer bicycle path soon to be linked to neighboring San Fabian town.
Apart from bike lanes, the Tondaligan Baywalk has been developed as a public recreation space with a walking/jogging path, benches, and accessibility for persons with disability.
Through the initiative of De Venecia, the Department of Tourism will also install solar-powered lights along the entire stretch of the baywalk from the BJMP compound in Bonuan Gueset to the Bureau of Fisheries and Natural Resources facility in Bonuan Binloc for evening use.
Other ongoing projects of the outgoing congressman include the construction of the Calmay Bridge, the Pasalubong Center near the Minor Basilica of Manaoag and the Edades-Bernal Cultural Museum in Barangay Pantal, Dagupan City.
His mother, Representative-elect Gina de Venecia, guaranteed continuity of her son’s initiatives. (Leonardo Micua)
