THE Automated Counting Machines (ACMs) that will be used in Pangasinan for the May 12 midterm elections were delivered to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Provincial Hubs in Dagupan City and Alaminos City on Monday, April 28.

Aside from the 2,869 main ACMs, 194 contingency machines were also supplied for Dagupan City Hub and 207 for the Alaminos City Hub.

The Dagupan City hub covers ACMS for the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth districts while the Alaminos City hub will cater to the First, Second, and Third districts.

Comelec OIC-Regional Director Reddy Balarbar said the shipment of ACMs were accompanied by Consolidated Canvassing System (CCS) Kits for the Board of Canvassers use.

The delivery was witnessed by Balarbar, Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Ericson Oganiza, and Janice Hebron, lay coordinator of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) in Pangasinan.

The machines will be kept at the hubs until May 5 before being transferred to local Comelec offices. The final testing and sealing of the ACMs will take place on May 6.

To ensure security, police officers have been assigned to guard the provincial hubs. (Ahikam Pasion)
