A unity walk and prayer rally, dubbed “Lakad Pangasinan” was held on May 3 at the St. John the Evangelist Cathedral in Dagupan City, bringing together various sectors to advocate for clean, honest, accountable, meaningful, and peaceful elections on May 12.
Organized by the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), the event was joined by PPCRV volunteers, PNP and Comelec personnel led by Dagupan City Election Officer Michael Franks Sarmiento.
The activity reminded the public of the importance of exercising their right to vote, and carefully selecting deserving leaders.
In her message, PPCRV Provincial Coordinator Janice Hebron said financial considerations should not influence a voter’s decision and underscored the need for citizens to prioritize the integrity and capability of candidates over monetary incentives.
Pangasinan Police Provincial Director P/Col. Rollyfer Capoquian also addressed the participants, assuring the public of the PNP’s commitment to ensuring a secure and peaceful electoral process. (Ahikam Pasion)
