Truckloads of campaign tarps collected in Dagupan
TWO days after the midterm elections on May 12, the winning candidates in Dagupan City spearheaded the dismantling of campaign materials, both theirs and those of the defeated, as well as those of the national candidates.

Pangasinan police still on alert 2 weeks after polls
THE Pangasinan police remained on alert two weeks after the May 12 poll to address possible post-election related incidents in the 48 towns and cities of the province, although the just concluded midterm elections were considered generally peaceful and orderly.
Pangasinan Police Provincial Director P/Colonel Rollyfer Capoquian said the election period will officially be until June 12 and they will not relax their guard until then. (Mathew Pacheco)

Drunk motorcycle rider dead in road mishap
THE Lingayen police responded to a report about the discovery of a man’s cadaver lying on the roadside along the Lingayen Baywalk in Barangay Libsong.
Investigations indicated that the victim was involved in an accident while driving his motorcycle, that crashed into an electric post. Before the incident, the man was reportedly on a drinking spree with relatives. (Rona Racca)

Basista fire victims to receive financial aid
MARKET vendors affected by the fire that gobbled up 75% of the Basista Public Market last May 9 will receive financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Basista local government officials gave this assurance when they met the affected market vendors, along with members of the town’s Local Finance Committee, Engineering Office, and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office. (Jam Victorio)

Pangasinan’s inflation rate continues to slow down
THE Inflation rate in Pangasinan slowed down to 1.8% in April, continuing a downtrend from 2.6% in January, and 2.3% in February and March, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Region 1.

Comelec Dagupan now giving out teachers’ honoraria
THE Commission on Elections in Dagupan City has started distributing honoraria to the teachers who were on poll duty during the May 12 elections, according to City Elections Officer Michael Franks Sarmiento in an exclusive interview by IFM News Dagupan.
Sarmiento said this complies with the directive of the Comelec central office that the honoraria of teachers ranging from P9,000 to P12,000 must be given to them within 15 days after the May 12 election. (Mathew Pacheco)

Dagupan Comelec now preparing for BSKE in December
FOLLOWING the May 12 midterm poll, the Commission on Elections in Dagupan City is now preparing for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) scheduled in the first week of December this year.
In an exclusive interview by IFM News Dagupan, City Elections Office Michael Franks Sarmiento said his office is set to start updating the voters’ list, which involves deactivating those who failed to vote in two successive elections.
Voter registration for the BSKE 2025 is slated from July 1 to 11, during which the Comelec will also serve transferring voters. (Mathew Pacheco)
