Orientation for HINP water sports operators held
WATERSPORTS operators at the Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos City underwent orientation to strengthen responsible tourism practices, including conformity to environmental regulations.
The training was conducted by officials of the Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO) in cooperation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau Regional Office 1. (Ella Garcia)

Student summer camp held in Urdaneta
THE three-day Student Leaders’ Summer Camp and Training was recently held at the Urdaneta City University under the auspices of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office.
The activity was designed to strengthen the participation of students and the youth in the campaign of the police against crimes, tackling such topics as crime prevention, cybercrime and digital safety, basic life support, and drug addiction. (Ella Garcia)

Viability of 42 SLP associations assured
THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office I, along with the City Social Welfare and Development Office, inspected 42 associations actively supporting the agency’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
The DSWD looked into how these associations are implementing their respective livelihood projects to ensure economic viability and inclusive benefits to the poor members of communities. (Ella Garcia)

THE Department of Trade and Industry in Pangasinan recently conducted a two-day entrepreneurship and consumer advocacy seminar in Dagupan City, participated in by owners of different MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) in the city and members of consumer groups.

San Fabian folks ask for P20/kg rice
CONSUMERS in San Fabian expressed hope that the national government’s P20 per kilogram rice would also be made available in their town.
Commercial rice has gone down to P33 to P45kg., cheaper than in previous months, but they said many would benefit from the even lower subsidized rate. (Joana de Vera)

Merrera shrugs off DQ case filled by VM Rosario
REELECTED Binmaley Mayor Pedro Merrera III said he is not at all bothered by the disqualification case filed before the Commission on Elections central office by defeated mayoralty candidate Simplicio Rosario, who has since resigned as vice mayor.
Merrera accused his opponent of just being desperate in his effort to destroy him and his image, just to erase from the minds of the people what really happened in Binmaley during the last election. (Jam Victorio)

2 Solid North drivers test positive for drugs
TWO bus drivers of the Pangasinan Solid North bus company were found positive for drugs during a mandatory testing on all drivers of the bus firm.
The drug testing was required after a north-bound bus of the company figured in a vehicular accident that killed 10 people and injured 39 others along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway. (Mathew Pacheco)
