MANAOAG Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario hailed the De Venecias – Joe, wife Gina, and their son Toff – for their role in the development of his town and the rest of Fourth District.

Rosario, who is running for reelection and expressed support for Gina’s bid to return as district representative, said, “we are duty bound in a way to return the favor to the De Venecias for their conscientious services to us throughout all these years.”

The three de Venecias are identified with the slogan “Serbisyong 3-in-1.”

Five-time Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., considered as the “Father of the Fourth District,” is credited for laying down a strong foundation for a modern district by providing funds for the construction of roads and bridges, modern schools and hospitals, markets and other public buildings.

Among his projects are the De Venecia Bridge and Expressway that modernized Dagupan Cityscapes, the Seafood Processing Plant and the Asian Fishery Academy.

He is also known as the architect of new Dagupan for being instrumental in rebuilding the city from the ruins of the 1991 earthquake by authoring a bill in Congress that poured huge sums of money for the rehabilitation of all earthquake-devastated areas in Luzon.

In the case of Rep. Christopher “Toff” de Venecia, he has become known as the “champion of the creative industries” that co tributed P1.94 trillion to the economy last year.

Manay Gina de Venecia, congresswoman of the fourth district from 2010 to 2016, is a notable advocate for the welfare of abused women, street children and abandoned senior citizens, having established specialized centers for these different sectors.

She built the INA Healing Center and co-founder along with the late DILG Secretary Robert Barbers of the Women’s and Children’s Desks in all police precincts.

She was instrumental in upgrading the Region I Medical Center from 300 to 600 bed capacity, and her son Christopher had a bill passed further upgrading R1MC from 600 to 1,200 bed capacity, which is awaiting approval into law by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., is seeking to return to her old post this election with only a token of opponent.
