Final briefing for teachers manning poll centers set
THE final briefing for teachers who will serve as machine technicians and members of the board of canvassers in the May 12 election will be held on April 27, according to Dagupan Election Officer Atty. Michael Franks Sarmiento.

No formal complaint yet over campaign poster destruction
THE Commission on Elections in Dagupan City has yet to receive formal complaints relating to the reported destruction of campaign posters of some local candidates, according to Dagupan City Election Officer Atty. Michael Franks Sarmiento.
In a virtual presser conducted by PIA Dagupan last week, Sarmiento said they need the affected parties to file formal complaints, supported by video footage and other proofs of the acts committed, before they can take action on the matter. (Jam Victorio)

Bolinao registers zero casualty during the Holy Week
THE local government of Bolinao said no casualty was recorded when tourists flocked to the town’s various beaches during the long weekend break for the Holy Week, citing close safety monitoring efforts.

2-day LTOPF caravan in Alaminos City
THE License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and Firearms Registration (FR) Caravan of the Philippine National Police was held in Alaminos City last April 24 and 25.

PDRRMO prepares for coming summer vacation, Pista’y Dayat
THE Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) stepped up its preparation for the whole duration of the summer vacation and the coming celebration of Pistay Dayat on May 1.

No person downed by high heat index
DESPITE the daily high heat indices in Pangasinan, no person has yet been hospitalized for any heat-related incidents, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).
Vincent Chiu, PDRRMO operations head, revealed that the average heat index in Pangasinan since the summer season started in March was 47°C, classified as a “danger level” by the state weather agency. (Joana de Vera)

Tricycle driver-drug pusher arrested
A 52-year old tricycle driver from Barangay Carmen West in Rosales was arrested by the police in a drug buy-bust operation on April 20.
Lawmen seized from the suspect three sachets containing crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing 40.87 grams with a street value of P277,916. (Nil Moyano)

Police seize P1.5M worth of drugs during Holy Week
ABOUT P1. 5 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by the Police Regional Office 1 with the implementation of Operation “Huli Week” during the long weekend break.
Police officers seized 223.6 grams of shabu from 33 drug personalities from April 18 to 20, and arrested 73 wanted individuals. In the campaign against loose firearms, 87 firearms were seized that led to the arrest of 11 persons. Another 137 different types of firearms were surrendered. (Nil Moyano)
