Dagupan police strengthen anti-drug ops 

THE Dagupan City Police Station vowed to strengthen  its  anti-drug operations, noting that illegal drugs continue to be seized from local peddlers

BFAR orders LGUs to monitor shellfish shipment 

THE Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Region 1 called on all local government units in Pangasinan to monitor all seafood products being unloaded for sale in their areas after it has declared the coastal waters of Bolinao and Anda as positive for red tide toxin.

LGUs were directed by BFAR to order their market inspectors, quarantine officers and market administrators to require all shippers of seafood products to present their Auxiliary Invoice or Local Transport Permit issued from point of origin, before they unload their cargo. (Ella Garcia)

Dagupan vendors assure shellfish in market safe

SHELLFISH vendors at the Magsaysay Fish Market in Dagupan assured consumers that their goods come from areas that are not affected by red tide.

According to them, they hold Auxiliary Invoices  issued by the local government from the point of origin. (Rona Racca)

2 die in motorcycle-car collision 

A 21-year old motorcycle driver and his 35-year old back rider died when their vehicle collided head-on with a car along the highway in Barangay Maningding, Sta. Barbara last week.

According to police investigation, the driver of the motorcycle was drunk when he veered into the opposite lane where the car was traversing.  The driver of the car as well as his passengers were all hurt and rushed to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City. (Mathew Pacheco)

Bolinao launches Oplan Semana for visitors 

THE coastal town of Bolinao implemented Oplan Semana Santa  to ensure the safety and comfort of tourist during the Holy Week break.

LGU officials and the police coordinated with the resorts and hotels in the town for easier monitoring of tourists booked in their establishments. (Joana de Vera)

More buses permitted to transport Pangasinan passengers 

THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board issued special permits to some buses operating outside Pangasinan to accommodate passengers from Manila during the Holy Week, noting a shortage of regular vehicles operating routes to the province.

Terminal Master Robert Silvestre of Victory Liner said buses that were given special permits can transport passengers from April 11 to 27. (Joana de Vera)
