Dagupan CDRRMO gets new fire truck
ABANDONED CR REFURBISHED
A new fire rescue truck purchased by the Dagupan City government for use by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) was blessed last April 7 during the flag-raising ceremony at the Dagupan City Plaza.
Mayor Belen Fernandez said the acquisition of new equipment and vehicles is part of her administration’s goal to strengthen the capability of CDRRMO to respond to all kinds of emergencies.
Also blessed was the recently completed public comfort rooms along Jovellanos Street, whose reconstruction and refurbishment were abandoned by the contractor of the previous city administration.
Market vendors along Jovellanos Street cheered the completion of the facility intended for use by shoppers and tourists.
The fire truck acquisition and the refurbishing of the comfort room were made possible by the passage of the long-overdue Supplemental Budget No. 2 in November last year when three opposition councilors were preventively suspended for 60 days by the Office of the President.
During that period from November 5 to January 5, at least 172 other resolutions and ordinances were passed by the then-new majority in the Sanggunian Panlungsod (SP) composed of Councilors Michael Fernandez, Jeslito Seen, Dennis Canto, Marcelino Fernandez and Bradley Benavides, with Vice Mayor and SP Presiding Officer Bryan Kua.
