CAMPAIGN STARTS FOR LOCAL BETS

AS the campaign period for local candidates started on Friday, March 28, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Pangasinan reminded aspirants and their supporters to adhere to the rules on campaign materials, especially on where these are placed.

Provincial Election Supervisor Ericson Oganiza emphasized strict utilization of designated common poster areas only.

He noted the surge of campaign material postings at midnight on March 28 and warned that all campaign materials in unauthorized locations will be removed by COMELEC-led teams.

He stressed that the guidelines are intended to ensure a fair playing field for all candidates to display their campaign materials and told off candidates who monopolize these common spaces.

He also clarified that supporters are permitted to place campaign materials in private locations, provided that they obtain prior consent and adhere to size limitations. (Ahikam Pasion)
