DOH to deploy more healthcare workers in hospitals during holidays
MORE healthcare workers will be deployed by the Department of Health (DOH) in hospitals across Region 1 from December 21 to January 6 in anticipation of the rise in number of patients during the Christmas and New Year holidays, especially due to injuries from fireworks.
Ethelreina Sugando, Nurse V at DOH Region 1, said fireworks-related incidents usually increase during this period as well as health conditions arising from excessive eating.
She said they are ensuring the readiness of hospital facilities to effectively respond to and treat patients. The DOH Region 1 is also collaborating with Rural Health Units to expedite response time.
