FORMER Rep. Gina de Venecia, who is eyeing a comeback in Congress, vowed to carry on with the service legacy started by her husband, former Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., and continued by their son, Rep. Christopher de Venecia, with a focus on boosting livelihood opportunities as well as the delivery of social services.

“My vision is to empower every generation — from Gen Z to Millennials — by providing livelihood opportunities for all,” De Venecia, better known as Manay Gina, said after Cong. Toff filed her certificate of candidacy on her behalf on October 8.

Her candidacy under the Lakas-CMD party of Speaker Martin Romualdez gets strong backing from all the incumbent mayors of the 4th district, namely Belen Fernandez of Dagupan, Bona Fe Parayno of Mangaldan, Marlyn Agbayani of San Fabian, Leo de Vera of San Jacinto, and Jeremy Agerico Rosario of Manaoag.

Manay Gina is also riding on the crest of her son’s remarkable track record, who is recognized in Congress as a champion of the creative arts. (Leonardo Micua)
