Police stop Bingo game in Urbiztondo
THE Urbiztondo police stopped a bingo game in Barangay Bituag that was not covered by a mayor’s permit.
The police did not accept in the reason given by the bingo organizer that, as advised by his lawyer, no mayor’s permit was necessary since the games did not involve monetary bets. The municipal government maintained that laws, rules and regulations must be followed by all townspeople. (Jam Victorio)

More personnel, equipment for 14 provincial government-run hospitals
THE 14 provincial government-run hospitals in Pangasinan were beefed up with 471 newly-hired medical staff to better serve the needs of a growing number of patients.
In addition, the provincial government procured 22 ultra-sound machines, six computed tomography (CT) scans, one magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and 19 x-ray machines for these medical facilities, the biggest of which is the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City. (Ella Garcia)

Coast Guard retrieves half-sunk fishing boat
THE sub-station of Coast Guard Station in Bolinao and the Marine Environmental Protection Group retrieved a half-sunk fishing boat off the coast of Bolinao that was abandoned by its crewmen at the height of Typhoon “Enteng” two weeks ago.
In an inspection conducted by the rescue team on the crippled fishing boat, it found its submersible pump was not functioning but its 100 liters of automotive diesel oil was intact and no oil was spilled into the sea. (Joana de Vera)

Farmer stabbed due to personal spat in Dasol
A farmer from Barangay Osmeña, Dasol was hospitalized after he was stabbed by a man with whom he had an earlier altercation. The victim was identified only as Joel, 44, while the suspect was known only as “Kulagsit”.
After stabbing the victim at his uncle’s residence, the suspect escaped on his motorcycle. Joel was rushed by relatives to the hospital and is now recovering from his wound. (Jam Victorio)

Delivery rider robs customer
A 22-year-old delivery driver, who was let in the house and asked to return at a later time, was arrested after taking off with the customer’s bag containing a cellular phone and P3,600 cash in Barangay Talogtog, Lingayen.
The incident was recorded by the house’s CCTV camera, which the customer used as evidence in filing a complaint with the barangay. The delivery driver was nabbed upon his return. (Jam Victorio)

24/7 alert on vs spoiled milkfish entering Dagupan
AFTER the seizure of some 300 kilos of spoiled fish being sold by vendors at the Magsaysay Fish Market last week, authorities in Dagupan City remain on alert 24/7 to prevent another attempt to bring into the city tons of spoiled milkfish that died from the fish kill in western Pangasinan.
Mayor Belen Fernandez said she will not allow the shipment of spoiled fish to the city and ordered the City Agriculture Office to coordinate with the Bureau of Fisheries and Natural Resources so that traders who bring spoiled fish to the city can be charged and punished. (Ella Garcia)

Mangaldan’s most wanted arrested
THE top Most Wanted Person in Mangaldan was arrested when policemen served a warrant for his arrest at his residence.
The suspect was known only as alias “Tanduay”, 24, and was wanted for statutory rape committed in the town. (Rona Racca)
