Balungao, Umingan get additional relief packages from DSWD
THE towns of Balungao and Umingan already received another delivery of Family Food Packs (FFP) for their residents affected by the flood spawned by Typhoon “Enteng.” The two towns requested these from the Department of Social Services and Development in addition to the initial delivery of FFPs.
Newly delivered to Balungao to were 2,398 additional FFPs while 2,570 FFPs were delivered to Umingan for distribution to their constituents affected by the flood. Before the typhoon, DSWD had already pre-positioned FFPs to various areas in Pangasinan,( Rona Racca)

Safety tips for appliance users in flooded areas
THE public was warned by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to be extra careful when using electrical appliances and equipment if their premises are flooded. PDRRMO warned to be careful when using electric appliances and implements because these could be grounded because of the rains and flood. Worse, these could result in electrocuting members of households if not careful enough.
PDRRM advised to remove the socket of an appliance from the outlet or power source once floodwaters already entered the house. He added that as an added precaution, old wirings should be replaced. (Joana de Vera)

Manaoag set to acquire more heavy equipment
LGU Manaoag is set to dredge shallow and silted rivers to minimize the flood following the arrival of a new bulldozer that it had procured. Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario said the heavy equipment can also be used in road construction as well as in leveling soil in the farms.
Rosario said the municipality intends to acquire more heavy equipment to be used for both engineering and civil works. (Mathew Pacheco)

No M-Pox case detected yet in Region 1
THE Department of Health-Center of Health Development 1 confirmed that no case of Monkey Pox or M-Pox has been detected in the Ilocos Region to date. To prepare communities, it announced that it has conducted awareness seminar for personnel of municipal, city and provincial offices and on adopting of strategies to prevent the disease, including detection, isolation and treatment of patients afflicted with M-Pox.
Vowing to bring the awareness campaign down the communities, DOH-CHD 1 appealed to residents to bring back the habit of frequent hand-washing with soap and water, and to again wear face masks. (Ella Garcia)

R1MC ready for M-Pox patients
THE Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City is ready to receive a case of Monkey Pox or M-Pox in Pangasinan. R1MC already set up an infectious disease unit where the patient suffering from M-Pox will be isolated while undergoing treatment. .
Symptoms of M-Pox include headache, fever, swelling of lymph organs, skin rash and back pain and muscle pain.

Disaster response training conducted in Bautista
THIRTY-nine officers of the Sangguniang Kabataan led by the Local Youth Development Officer of Bautista town underwent training on disaster response so that they can respond to any kind of calamity that may hit their town.
Officials said the training was necessary as the Agno River, which passes through the town, sometimes overflows its banks and endangers the lives of the residents. Prior to this, youths from Alcala, Bugallon, Rosales and San Carlos City were also trained on disaster response. (Jam Victorio)

Most wanted man in Bolinao arrested
THE most wanted man of Bolinao town was arrested when operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group served him a warrant for his arrest at his residence. The suspect, Elvie Rebudan, 62, of Barangay Salud, Bolinao, was wanted for three counts of Statutory Rape for reportedly abusing a younger relative.
He was first brought for a medical checkup at the Bolinao Community Hospital before he was taken into custody by the CIDG. (Rona Racca)

P41 million road, drainage project in San Carlos City completed
THE P41 million road widening and drainage project in Barangay Coliling, San Carlos City was completed by the city government to shorten the time travel from Barangay Coliling to the public market from 25 minutes to just five minutes.
The project was the response of the San Carlos City government led by Mayor Julier Resuello to the perennial flooding of Barangay Coliling every rainy season. #
