LINGAYEN authorities called for cooperation and understanding from the public as they assured that the ongoing road construction at Quibaol earth dike in Lingayen, which has caused significant traffic congestion in the town, will be done before the end of the year.

According to P/Lt Colonel Amor Somine, Lingayen Police chief, the closure of Quibaol Earth Dike — a crucial alternate route for those traveling to and from Western Pangasinan — has led to increased traffic flow through the town center in Barangay Poblacion.

As a result, gridlock in Lingayen has intensified.

Police and Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) personnel are deployed to direct vehicular traffic to rerouted areas.

He said the closure of Quibaol earth dike is necessary for a construction project expected to last three months or approximately 90 days.

Recognizing the inconvenience many face, the LGU appealed that work be expedited. (Ahikam Pasion)
