Mere pleas won’t stop SP majority’s plagiarism

THE repeated call of the minority bloc in the Dagupan Sangguniang Panlungsod to the majority to desist from their illegal practice of plagiarizing the former’s proposed ordinances and resolutions are simply falling on deaf ears.

In last week’s regular session, the majority bloc introduced for second reading Resolution No. 6403, a draft resolution “enhancing health promotion intervention to include individual psycho-social and mental well-being aiming to reduce mental issues in the city”, which Councilor and Minority Floor Leader Michael Fernandez said was copied from their draft resolution R-6391 filed in May.

Several other resolutions authored by the minority were practically copied by the majority and refiled as their own in recent weeks.

Fernandez said the minority has been compelled to allow for the passage of the approval of the plagiarized resolutions and draft ordinances with reservations, for the sake of promoting the general welfare.  (Leonardo Micua)
