3 Bonuan barangays get new evacuation center

A P19.79-million multi-purpose building in Dagupan City is set to serve as an evacuation center for three barangays.

According to Esperanza Tinaza, Department of Public Works and Highways – Ilocos information officer, the building located in Barangay Bonuan Boquig will benefit the communities of Bonuan Gueset, Bonuan Boquig, and Bonuan Binloc.

The three-story structure will serve as a command post for disaster management, featuring accommodation facilities, a health station, conference rooms for critical meetings, and planning areas for emergency services.

The facility may also be used for various community events.

Construction of the building, with a total floor area of 1,266.6 square meters, began on July 17, 2023 and was completed on April 4, 2024. (Ahikam Pasion)
