WHILE only two cases of leptospirosis were recorded in Pangasinan since January this year up to the present, the Provincial Health Office (PHO), anticipating more leptospirosis cases expected this year, advised residents to wear rain boots when walking in floodwaters, especially if a person has wounds in his or her feet.

However, those themselves walking in floodwaters without boots are advised to go to the nearest health center where they may ask for prophylactic medicines for free.
