SENATOR Francis Tolentino urged the people of Dagupan City and Pangasinan not to listen to the endless bickering over the proposed constitutional change between senators and congressmen.

It’s just all about politics, the senator said.

Tolentino was in Dagupan City last February 14 to distribute wheelchairs, cash Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation, sacks of rice and appliances to some Dagupenos.

The senator said the provinces, towns and cities are a lot better because their officials continue to work and help their constituents without creating political noise.

He cited the case of Mayor Belen Fernandez who made the health of the people as her number one program and as proof of her efforts, she received numerous citations and awards from the Department of Health.

The senator also brought a legal team to provide free legal advice to people on their various concerns.

Mayor Fernandez lauded Senator Tolentino for funding the reconstruction and elevation of a street in Barangay Pogo Chico that is now benefiting residents. Without his support, she said, that street could not have been upgraded given that the seven-man majority in the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s disruptive efforts to approve the budget.

Citing Senator Tolentino as one of the major allies of Dagupan City from the national government, she asked the senator to send trainors from the Metro Manila Development Authority to train personnel of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Public Alert Response and Monitoring Center on safety and rescue operations.
