By February 25, 2024Inside News

PARENTS and faculty members of Mangaldan National High School who were initially alarmed by a bomb threat on Facebook Sunday night, February 18, finally felt reassured of the safety of their students after the town police declared the extensive search of the “planted  bomb” as negative.

Mayor Bona Fe de Vera Parayno had announced the suspension of classes on Monday upon receipt of confirmation of report of Councilor Aldrin Soriano’s that the bomb threat was posted on his Facebook account by a ‘Rechino Dufo’.

Soriano immediately coordinated with the school authorities and the local police to conduct a search in the campus the area.

The suspension, however, was subsequently recalled after the Mangaldan PNP and 4th District Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit declared no bomb was found in any part of the school campus by 2 a.m. Monday morning, February 19.

However, only a few students reported on Monday. The situation normalized on Tuesday.

The Mangaldan National High School is the largest school in Region I. The school hosted the Pangasinan 2 Division Meet, and classes are to resume on February 19.

Since the bomb scare in MNHS, the school implemented strict entry to the school campus.

The Pangasinan National High School, host of the Pangasinan I Division Schools Press Conference this week, was also alerted by the bomb scare. (Ahikam Pasion)
