Two fishermen rescued from capsized boat off Agno
TWO fishermen were rescued by a cargo vessel from Egypt, MV Wadi Almalikat, after their boat capsized due to high waves and kept afloat for five hours, 30 nautical miles, west of Rena Point in Agno town on December 30.
Rescued fishermen, Randy Arbollyente, 30, and Mark Kimber, 37, both residents of Barangay Boboy, in Agno.
According to the Philippine Coast Guard in Pangasinan, headed by Station Commander Alexander Corpuz, it was around 2:00 A.M of December 30 when a huge wave reportedly flooded the fishing boat, which caused it to capsize.
While navigating in the same area, Wadi Almalikat, a bulk carrier registered under the flag of Egypt, saw the two fishermen and pulled them up to the ship.
On December 31, the two fishermen had arrived and docked at Sual Fish Port where they received medical attention.
After completing medical examinations, the two were sent home. (Kim Gealogo)
