PNP Regional Office 1 issued a manifesto standing firm in its commitment to safeguard the sovereignty as it pledged unwavering support to the mandate bestowed by the people on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., recognizing his responsibility to govern.

Signed by all officers and men of PRO 1 led by P/Brig. General Lou Evangelista, police regional director, the manifesto was issued amid alleged destabilization try believed being fanned by some disgruntled former officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and of the PNP, said to be all graduates of the Philippine Military Academy.

Earlier, General Benjamin Acorda Jr., PNP chief, staunchly denied a social media post linking him to the plot to oust President Marcos from office, and as proof of this, he filed formal charges for cybercrime against certain persons whom he believed to be behind it.

Signatories to the manifesto include all officers and men of the Pangasinan PNP led by P/Colonel Jeff Fanged, police provincial director of Pangasinan.

The manifesto stated that as guardians of the peace “we affirm our allegiance to the Constitution, which serves as the bedrock of our society”.

“Our solemn duty is to protect it (Constitution) at all costs ensuring that the principles it enshrined are preserved for the benefit of every Filipino… “we strongly condemn any efforts by individuals seeking personal gain against the administration .”  (Leonardo Micua)
