THE new police regional director of the Philippine National Police Region 1 presented to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) his priorities to maintain peace and order in the Ilocos Region after the legislative body acknowledged his new leadership being a Pangasinense.

Police B/Gen. Lou Evangelista, from Binmaley town, said in his acceptance speech during last Monday’s SP regular session that he was “deeply moved and incredibly honored” to receive the recognition and commendation coming from no less than his beloved province—Pangasinan.

Evangelista cited the thrusts of his “Ways Forward” program for PRO1: Launching of Police Community Academy, declaration of drug-free provinces, digital literacy for crime prevention, empowering police through continuous training for modern crime challenges, crime analytics center, fostering integrity and swift justice through effective law enforcement, and fortifying public safety and internal security for a prosperous Region 1.

The acknowledgment of Evangelista’s contributions is contained in Provincial Resolution No. 1095-2023, jointly authored by Board Members Haidee Pacheco, Philip Theodore Cruz, and Vici Ventanilla. (Eva Visperas)
