El Niño phenomenon in Pangasinan to extend till May
DUE to the existing El Niño phenomenon, dry period in Pangasinan will persist until the month of May.
This was disclosed by PAGASA-Dagupan City Chief Meteorological Officer Jose Estrada Jr. who said that the effects of the dry season started to be felt in the province in December of last year and will continue to persist in the next four months, and Pangasinan will experience only four days of rain this month of January, which is also less than usual of five days of rain.
He said the country is currently experiencing low rainfall, which dropped from below normal compared to last year’s January rainfall condition, from 60% to 21%. In this regard, Estrada advised the public to take suitable measures to help alleviate the more severe effects of drought in the province. (Kim Gealogo)
