Basista launches mini-contest against plastic use
THE Solid Waste Management Office (SWMO) of Basista town launched a mini-contest among its residents asking them to upload a photo that supports the campaign against plastic on the town’s Facebook account before January 30, as part of its ongoing campaign against the single use of plastic bags.
The contest aims to create higher awareness and to promote creativity among the locals while contributing to the reduction of garbage in their communities.
The town’s local government will select five best and impressive posts and will receive P1,000 each on January 31. Some of the environmental practices in the town are usage of reusable containers for food storage, using polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles as containers for fabric and dishwashing detergent.
