Start wear face masks as a precaution – PHO
HEALTH authorities reminded the public in Pangasinan to consider wearing of face masks due to noticeable mild increase of COVID-19 cases in the country.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Cielo Almoite warned the people to take necessary precaution when attending large gatherings this Christmas holiday to avoid possibility of contracting Covid. She called on Pangasinenses to again start wearing face masks, avoid getting into a large crowd with no open ventilation and to frequently wash their hands. (John Caranto)

Price of rice in Dagupan continues to soar
THE price of well-milled rice in public markets in Dagupan was being sold for P54 per kilo, four pesos higher than the price of rice two weeks ago.
Based on monitoring conducted by IFM Dagupan, it was the lowest price in the market last week. Further increase is expected until the end of December. (Matthew Pacheco)

Holiday food packages for noche buena are popular pick
THE tight money situation in the country has resulted in new ways to market products to households.
Consumers have chosen to buy holiday packages offered in many groceries. These include spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, all-purpose cream, fruit cocktails, macaroni, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and mayonnaise. These are deemed convenient and cheaper.

Projectile dug by gold prospectors in Bautista
PROSPECTORS dug 105 millimeter projectile in Barangay Nibaliw Norte, Bautista while prospecting for gold.
Alarmed by the discovery, they immediately reported the matter to the local police. Personnel of the PNP Explosive Ordnance Division arrived in Nibaliw Norte to retrieve the explosive for disposition.

Drug pusher arrested in Mangaldan
A 30-yer old man from Poblacion, Mangaldan was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the police in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The suspect was identified as Rostum Carino from whom lawmen seized one sachet of suspected shabu with a total weight of .83 grams valued at P5,000. A case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or illegal possession of drugs is now being prepared against the suspect.

Policemen deployed to secure visitors
THE Pangasinan police deployed more personnel men to safeguard the public visiting various places of interest in Pangasinan this Christmas holiday till the New Year.
P/Capt. Renan de la Cruz, information Officer of the Pangasinan PNP Provincial Office, said the police also secured all vital installations in the province that could be targets of attacks by terrorists. He encouraged Pangasinenses to obey all laws to avoid undue interruptions in their celebrations.
