Lingayen observes World Diabetes Day with medical mission
LINGAYEN’S Rural Health Unit 1 conducted a medical mission for 709 diabetes patients in observance of the World Diabetes Day last November 14, 2023 at the RHU’s central compound in Lingayen.
The RHU also offered free consultation for patients on non-communicable disease risk assessment, random blood sugar testing, and a diabetes education campaign.
The 79 patients were given with the prescribed Oral Anti-Glycemia, Insulin, and multivitamins.
The program sought to educate the public about diabetes and the effects that it poses, and if left untreated, it can result in blindness, amputation, hypertension, stroke and renal disease, according to the Municipal Health Office. (Kim Gealogo)
