THE LGU-Bayambang, in collaboration with One Document Corporation, earned the top award in the 8th Regional Agricultural and Fisheries Extension Network Symposium I of the Department of Agriculture held in Caoayan, Ilocos Sur on October 19-20.

The winning research entry and presentation were titled “E-Agro: A Platform that Provides Assistance to All Farming Needs at One’s Fingertips,” was defended by a team composed of  Catherine Quilantang and Raiza Mae Cacao from the Municipal Agriculture Office, Bernabe Mercado Jr. from the Bayambang Poverty Reduction Team, Maricel San Pedro of E-Agro Inc. One Document Corporation, and Resie Castillo of MAFC-Bayambang.

Among the seven teams that participated from different LGUs in Region I, LGU Bayambang’s “E-Agro” claimed the grand prize of P20,000.

The research’s primary objective was to establish a comprehensive one-stop-shop support system for local farmers. It aims to provide access to various forms of assistance, including low-interest loans with minimal collateral, sustainable agricultural knowledge, access to a fair marketplace, shared services for farm production and postharvest processes, crop insurance, and appropriate government interventions.
