THE Schools Division Office of San Carlos City led the 1-Ilocos Region Venture Camp from August 16 to 20, organized by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Regional Office.

During the opening ceremony, former Governor Amado Espino Jr. reiterated the significance of the scout motto, ‘’Laging Handa” as a constant reminder of the Boy Scout’s commitment to readiness and responsibility.

Shiela Marie Primicias, BSP regional chairman, said experiences that the scouts assimilated should encourage them to unite towards a common goal and make a tangible difference in their schools and communities.

The 164 Boy Scouts from Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan who joined the Ilocos Venture Camp camped out at the Central I Elementary School, Central II Elementary School, and Speaker Eugenio Perez National Agricultural School.

The Ilocos Venture Camp seeks to serve as a transformational experience for the Boy Scouts, leaving a mark on their personal growth and imparting them with newfound sense of camaraderie and life skills.

The camp’s activities were clustered into four modules: Back to Basics, World Programs, Emergency Preparedness and Water Activity, and Spiritual Development with Messenger of Peace (MOP) that promote essential skills in developing survival training, leadership, and companionship among campers.

Among the activities held for the participants were Laro ng Lahi, cookfest, cheerdance competition and collaborative challenges to showcase their talents as they venture on lifelong survival skills in outdoor setting.
