FOR OUT-OF-SCHOOL LEARNERS

THE Schools Division Office (SDO) and the San Carlos City government organized a caravan to launch ‘Project REACH’ (Reaching All Children) last August 22 that passed through all 74 barangays.

Spearheaded by teachers, the ‘Project REACH’ program seeks to educate Out-of-School Youths (OSY) and Special Education (SPED) learners in classrooms.

The project focused on ensuring the enrollment of every five-year-old child learners with disabilities, developmental delays, school leavers and Out-of-School Adults (OSA) through comprehensive school mapping the collaboration of respective barangays and catchment areas.

The learners’ active involvement is conducive to their growth in the inclusive learning centers and schools assuring that no one is left behind.

Project REACH also adopts blended strategies using innovative “catch and hold” intervention such as Modified In-School/Out-School where students are given a set of lessons through modules that correspond to their needs as learners which otherwise are not provided in regular classroom education.
