Flooding persists in Dagupan, Calasiao without rains

RESIDENTS in the downstream areas of the Sinocalan River continued to suffer from flooding even if the level of water in said river returned from 7.5m. critical level to 6m. normal level on September 6 at the height of monsoon rains triggered by Typhoon “Hanna”.

As of 1:30 p.m. on September 5, the Marusay River in Calasiao was still 8.6 meters above normal level, and continued to bring floodwater in eight sitios and one barangay.

Still flooded in Calasiao were Sitios Boquig in Lumbang (1-2 ft). Binco in Buenlag (1ft), Tebron in Barangay Mancup (1.1 ft), and Habagat (1.2 ft), Boquig (1.1 ft) and Mares (1.2ft) both in Barangay Lasip, Barangay Talibaew  (1-2 ft), Sitio Panqui in Barangay Nalsian (1.3 ft) and Sitio Casintak in Longos (1.3 ft.).

In Dagupan City, floodwaters in Sitio Fisheries had receded and the 10 families that evacuated to Malued Elementary School assisted by barangay officials led by Kapitana Filipina de los Santos have returned to their homes.

However, flooding continued in some areas of Malued, Lasip Chico, Pogo Grande, Lasip Grande, Caranglaan, Mayombo, Herrero-Perez, Tapuac and Poblacion Oeste.

Meanwhile, the situation at the flood-prone areas at the intersection of A,B. Fernandez, M.H. Del Pilar and Arellano, a low-lying road behind SM Center Dagupan on Herrero-Perez and the intersection of the Lucao-Tapuac Road, Burgos Street and Perez Boulevard was aggravated by the rise of tide.
