Expect fine weather due to monsoon break, says PAGASA
AFTER two weeks of cloudy skies and rains that caused severe flooding in low lying areas in the province, Pangasinenses can finally have a breath of fresh air and scorching weather yet again.
Gener Quitlong, weather specialist for the PAGASA Agno River Basin Flood Forecasting and Warning Center said as ‘Hanna’ left the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the external force pulling the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) weakened.
“Mayroon tayong monsoon break, hihina ang Habagat, at magiging maaraw ang panahon natin sa susunod na mga araw,” said Quitlong.
Quitlong said Typhoon ‘Ineng’ did not have much influence over Habagat and on Friday, September 8, the state weather bureau did not see any low pressure area or any cloud formation in the Pacific Ocean which could turn into a Tropical Cyclone.
However, he said he does not remove such possibility because of the impact of the hot winds caused by the El Niño Phenomenon on the Pacific region.
Despite sunny days ahead, Quitlong said it is still the Habagat Season, meaning it still could rain especially during the afternoon or evening.
Fishermen may also freely fish in the sea since there is no gale warning. (Ahikam Pasion)
