Floods in Dagupan subside – CDRRMC
FLOODS have already subsided in all of Dagupan City except in certain areas in Barangays Lasip Chico and Malued.
This was reported by Roland de Guzman, head of the technical working group of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) in an interview over IFM Radio Dagupan on Thursday.
He said the water in all the areas still flooded will be pumped out and drained.
At the same time, De Guzman reported that the City Engineering Office started declogging drainage canals of mud and debris that had accumulated when all the roads were underwater in addition to fixing manholes that were deformed when trucks, Jeeps and cars run over them during the flood.
He expressed hope that the installation of steel plates in place of the Gabion-type of river embankment will soon minimize flooding in Dagupan. (Leonardo Micua)
