23 sitios under CENPELCO set to be energized in September

THE Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (CENPELCO) will energize 23 sitios in different towns and city starting on the third week of September this year.

Engr. Rodrigo Corpuz, CENPELCO general manager,  told the PUNCH in a phone interview that the ongoing construction project is under the Sitio Electrification Program (SEP) of the National Electrification Administration (NEA) funded by P15,579,897.42 for distribution lines and another P1,915,013.11 for house wirings.

The houses in these areas are far from the existing lines and CENPELCO submitted the need to have lines for service drops in these sitios so they can be energized.

Corpuz said these far sitios will soon have long service drops and can be tapped at the standard lines.

Service drops are curled wires from an electric post connected to a house which is supposed to be only about 30 to 50 meters away. But other houses are located about 150 to 200 meters away, he said.

The sitios that will be covered by this SEP this year are in Barangay Calit, Binmaley; Pantal, Salomague Norte and Salomague Sur in Bugallon; Domalandan Center, Libsong East and Tumbar in Lingayen; Beleng and Tanolong in Bayambang; Apaya, Bacundao Este, Caoayan Bogtong and Poblacion in Malasiqui; Bacnar, Gamata, Ilang, Malacañang, San Juan, Talang, Tayambani in San Carlos City; Navaluan and Tebag in Mangaldan.

Corpuz thanked the congressmen in these areas for including the funding for the SEP in the General Appropriations Act through the NEA. (Eva Visperas)
