SP endorses increase bed capacity from 40 to 100
LINGAYEN HOSPITAL’S OVER-CAPACITY DILEMMA
MORE patients can be served at the Lingayen District Hospital (LDH) after the provincial board in a resolution on Monday, July 3 to the Department of Health (DOH) endorsed its application for an upgraded capacity license.
The resolution cited the improvements and rehabilitation work done in the hospital and subsequent increase in patients as reason for the urgency to add more beds in the hospital
The resolution was jointly authored by Board Members Philip Theodore Cruz and Atty. Haidee Pacheco (2nd District) and Shiela Marie Baniqued (3rd District).
LDH is one of the 14 hospitals being operated by the provincial government that caters to nearby areas in Second District.
Vice Gov. Mark Lambino said the resolution was a requirement of the DOH before a license for its increased capacity can be granted.
In a separate interview, Fourth District Board Member Jerry Agerico Rosario, a medical doctor, said LDH is already experiencing overcapacity by serving more patients above its bed capacity limit. (Eva Visperas)
