Villa Verde Trail in San Nicolas temporarily closed by landslides
THE local government of San Nicolas temporarily closed the Villa Verde Trail to all types of motor vehicles after a series of landslides occurred in some portions of Villa Verde Trail on account of incessant rains brought about by Typhoon Dodong last week.
It can be recalled that a week before Typhoon Dodong, the highway was declared not passable to allow a clearing team from the Department of Public Works and Highways to remove boulders, rocks as well as debris were caused by a previous landslide.

Barangay road in Mabini hit by landslide
THE Mabini Police Station recently rerouted heavy vehicles passing through the barangay road in Sitio Boulevard leading to Barangay Nibaliw-Bacnit in Mabini town.
Due to on-stop rains spawned by Typhoon Dodong, a landslide occurred in the barangay road.

Sinocalan River still below normal level
DESPITE the incessant rains in Pangasinan, the water of the Sinocalan River in Sta. Barbara, remains below alert level.
The Sta. Barbara Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office had reported earlier that on July 16, the water level of Sinocalan River was 5.30 meters above sea level, lower than the normal level of 6.20 meters above sea level.
The MDRRMO continuously reminds residents near the Sinocalan River to always monitor its level of water there and should be ready to evacuate to higher grounds once they see the level of water is rising.

Two die due to Typhoon Dodong
TWO persons died in Pangasinan at the height of Typhoon Dodong.
P/Capt. Renan de la Cruz, public information Officer of the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office, identified the fatalities as Aloyssius Kevin Chavez, 23, of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, who drowned while vacationing in Bolinao, and Ariel Canaria when his motorcycle crashed in Barangay Calabeng, Bani.

121 barangays in Western Pangasinan flood, landslide-prone
SOME 100 barangays in Western Pangasinan are included in the list of flood-prone and landslide areas prepared by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Mines and Geo-Sciences Bureau (DENR-MGB).
Identified as flood and landslide-prone and considered under danger zones are: Alaminos’ 23 barangays, Bolinao, 15; Mabini and Dasol, 14 each; Bani and Anda, 13 each; Agno, 11; Infanta, 10; Burgos, 5; and Sual, 3.
The barangays are now getting added attention from DENR-MGB and other government agencies.
