COMELEC prepares 29 voting centers in Dagupan for BSKE

THE Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Dagupan City is currently inspecting 29 public schools that will serve as voting centers for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) this October 2023.

Dagupan City Election Supervisor Atty. Michael Sarmiento said the preparations are being done earlier to provide a buffer period for further adjustments.

Sarmiento, however, said two more schools are eyed to be added in order to decongest some schools.

Among these are the voting centers for Barangay Tebeng and Barangay Poblacion Oeste.

Sarmiento said voters from Barangay Tebeng used to vote in Mangin-Tebeng Elementary School, but the COMELEC wants to separate it and transfer the voting centers to the Tebeng Elementary School; while Barangay Poblacion Oeste voting center is being eyed to be moved to West Central Elementary School 2, instead of the usual West Central Elementary School 1.

Sa gayong paraan ay made-decongest ang mga voters sa centers natin, lalo at medyo maraming voters sa mga lugar na nabanggit natin”, said Sarmiento who is coordinating with the Department of Education to complete the transfer. (Ahikam Pasion)
