THE Dagupan City Commission on Elections (COMELEC) will conduct a forum for aspiring candidates for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections in the city on Friday, August 4, 8 a.m. at the Dagupan City People’s Astrodome.

Atty. Michael Franks Sarmiento, Dagupan City Election Officer, said all candidates are urged to attend the forum because new rules will be discussed, aside from general guidelines released by the poll body.

Among the topics to be discussed include qualifications and disqualifications of BSKE candidates, filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs), and the filing of Statements and Contributions (SOCE) after the elections.

The COMELEC will begin accepting applications of COC on August 28 until September 2.

Dagupan City will host 142,000 voters for the Barangay Elections, and 50,000 more have registered to participate in the Sangguniang Kabataan Elections throughout the city’s 31 barangays. (Ahikam Pasion)
