Price of rice at Malimgas remains unchanged

THE price of rice at the Malimgas Public Market in Dagupan City remains the same despite its reported shortage.

A survey showed that the cheapest rice that one can buy at Malingas costs P35 per kilo while the most expensive is P50 per kilo.

The survey indicated that because of the economic crunch, the most preferred rice in that market is P35 per kilo.

The Samahang Industriya ng Agrikultura (SINAG) however, belied reports that there is shortage of rice in the country when in fact the supply stored in NFA warehouses is  sufficient till the next shipment of imported rice.

At P35 per kilo, it is still P15 higher than the P20 per kilo as price of rice promised by then candidate Bong Bong Marcos during the political  campaign.

UP to 70 locals and visitors that swam at the Tondaligan Beach during the Pista’y Dayat on May 1 were stung by jelly fish but were quickly treated by doctors and nurses of the City Health Office.

This was reported by Tondaligan Park Administrator Albert Gregorio who said most victims of jelly fish were from outside Dagupan City and Pangasinan.
