Feeding program in Calasiao a priority

FEEDING program for malnourished children in Calasiao is a priority program of the local government unit in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd).

Noting that hunger is a stumbling block to education, the Calasiao local government has intensified its feeding program targeting underweight pre-schoolers. School teachers believe a child cannot study well because he lacks nutritious food that his family is unable to provide.

They noted that some of their pupils go to school without taking their breakfast, which is the most important meal that a person must take. (Rona Racca)

More than 2k bitten by dogs, cats in Dagupan

SOME 2, 271 persons have been bitten by dogs and cats in Dagupan City during the first three months of 2023, according to the Dagupan City Health Office.

This was gleaned from statics compiled by the CHO since the month of January this year, which also showed that  in many of these cases, it was their pet dogs and cats that bit their owners. Some of the persons bitten by their pets sought anti-rabies injection at the Region 1 Medical Center  or at several private clinics and hospitals.

Experts theorized that the hot weather easily irritates cats and dogs and become aggressive.  Anti-rabies vaccine is free at the CHO. Pharmacies sell a dose for P1,200 and injections take at least three to four sessions. (Rona Racca)
