More traffic violators at night during Holy Week in Dagupan
THE Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) bared that there are more motorcycle riders and drivers being arrested by traffic enforcers violating Dagupan’s traffic rules and regulation at night than during the day .
POSO Chief Arvin Decano cited the situation during the Holy Week when motorcycle riders and motorists were disregarding and violating traffic ordinances and laws in the belief that POSO men not on duty at night.
Unfortunately, for the irresponsible riders and drivers, the traffic enforcers were on full alert because of the many religious activities taking place and the expected arrival of many tourists and local vacationists. Most of the violations by motorcycle riders were the non-wearing of crash helmet and were fined P1,500 while motorists were apprehended for entering one-way streets.
The Holy Week experience prompted Decano to maintain the presence of traffic enforcers at night to prevent traffic accidents along the main roads in Dagupan. He called on all motorcycle riders and motorists to follow all traffic rules and regulations so that there will be no unnecessary delay in their travel and for them to avoid paying traffic fines.
