BFP supports Guico’s call for probe on Pozorrubio tragic fire
THE Provincial Fire Marshal of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) supports the call of Gov. Ramon Guico III for a thorough investigation on the tragic fire in Pozorrubio town midnight of April 3 that claimed the lives of a couple and their three kids.
Fire Chief Inspector Ronaldo Perez told in a Bombo Radyo Dagupan interview that his office is fully cooperating with the investigation, adding that the governor, being the father of the province, is right to be concerned about the welfare of his constituents, his “children”.
He also said that the eight personnel of the BFP Pozorrubio had been immediately relieved from their posts following the incident in order not to influence the ongoing investigation.
Perez said he already received a letter of authority to investigate after submitting the fire investigation report and progress reported to the provincial police headquarters.
The report that included the gathered of specimens from the processed fire scene were already submitted to the arson laboratory while his office is waiting for the Scene of the Crime (SOCO) Operatives’ report.
The new set of BFP personnel in Pozorrubio led by the new Officer-In-Charge Fire Marshall Senior Fire Officer 3 Amante Battalao joined the Monday flag raising ceremony, according to Councilor Dennis Uy in a Facebook post.
The new team also paid a courtesy call on the members of the Sangguniang Bayan.
Battalao committed “to work closely with the community and ensure that the men and women of the BFP will remain ready, prepared, disciplined and responsive in dealing with any fire incident in our town”, Uy said.
“We wished them well and we also expressed the SB’s support,” Uy added. (Eva Visperas)
