18k Dagupan kids eyed for inoculation
CONTRA MEASLES, RUBELLA, POLIO VACCINES
THE Dagupan City Health Office (CHO) is eyeing to inoculate 18,000 children aged zero to five years old, to prevent measles, rubella, and polio for the implementation of the Department of Health’s Chikiting Ligtas program.
In a dialogue between health experts and stakeholders held in Dagupan City on Wednesday, April 26, Dr. Julita de Venecia, CHO Medical Officer III said 20 vaccination teams will be deployed to the city’s 31 barangays beginning May 2 this year.
According to latest CHO records, Dagupan City has already recorded four suspected measles cases pending confirmatory test as of writing.
It will be recalled that the city logged 11 suspected measles cases last year, one of which was confirmed.
“Paalala ng mga eksperto sa mga magulang, ligtas at subok na ang mga bakunang ituturok sa kanilang mga anak,” Dr. Maribel Pasaoa, representative of the Philippine Pediatrics Society and a pediatrician-infectious diseases specialist, assured the parents amid continued fears from the Dengvaxia controversy and misinformation about Covid vaccines.
