THE Department of Health–Ilocos Region and the local government of Bayambang inaugurated the town’s 6th Rural Health Unit located in Barangay Mangayao last week, February 22, 2023.

The health facility is a local government initiative subsidized from the municipal development fund with a budget amounting to ₱2M.

Assistant Regional Director Rodolfo Antonio M. Albornoz, guest of honor during the blessing and opening of the health facility, lauded Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao’s administration for facilitating the establishment of community health centers that provide basic health care for the benefit of the town’s residents.

Albornoz assured the mayor that the regional office will provide the necessary support to make the rural health unit a functioning health facility that will provide the needed health services.

With six RHUs (in Barangays Poblacion, Wawa, Carungay, Macayocayo, Pantol and Mangayao), Bayambang already has the most number of RHUs in the province, followed by San Carlos City with 5.

Bayambang Municipal Health Officer, Paz F. Vallo said the lot for the health facility was donated by Dr. Cezar T. Quiambao. (DOH)
