Free birth registration in San Carlos City

THE Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) launched PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP) in Barangay Buenglat and provided free birth registration to 70 residents and free registration for delayed birth registration for 40 residents

The others were assisted through the correction of entries in their birth registrations due to clerical errors by their local civil registry.

Officials of San Carlos City led by Mayor Julier Resuello thanked PSA for conducting the mobile birth registration.

Bayambang holds forum regarding VAWC

THE Bayambang local government conducted the first quarter meeting on the status of anti-trafficking and violence against women and children.

The coordination meeting, led by the Bayambang Municipal Administrator and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, discussed the agenda for the holding of Women’s Summit in June that will address abuse of women and children and on how to protect them from harm.

The activity was attended by the staff of the Rural Health Unit, the Philippine National Police, and the KALIPI. (Jhon Caranto)

Tayug residents warned of bag slashers 

The  Tayug police warned residents about the presence of unidentified persons around public places stealing personal items by slashing bags of their targeted victims.

P/Major Anastacio Sibayan Jr., chief of police of Tayug, said several bag slashing incidents in Tayug victimizing mostly senior citizens who are shopping alone in public markets, groceries and supermarkets or strolling in places in crowded areas.

A woman bag slasher from Nueva Vizcaya was recently arrested.

The police have started using megaphones in public places , warning residents of bag slashing.  (John Caranto)

Mobile drive blood donation collects 100 bags of human blood 

THE Mobile Drive Blood Donation of Bayambang local government’, “Giving Blood, Saving Lives, Sharing Love” campaign resulted in collection of more than 100 bags of donated blood from 122 qualified blood donors.

The activity was successfully conducted with the town’s RHU 1, Philippine Red Cross, and the Kasama Kita sa Barangay Foundation in the city.  (Joana de Vera)

Supplementary food packs given to  Alaminos City kids 

THE Alaminos city government distributed food packs, eating and cooking utensils to 45 Child Development Centers as its counterpart in the Supplementary Feeding Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The food packs and utensil distribution, funded by the city government to boost the nutrition of pre-schoolers, was designed to help boost the capability of the centers in taking care of their wards. (Joana de Vera)

Mangaldan’s GAD plan for 2024 under review 

THE  Sangguniang Bayan of Mangaldan’s committee on appropriations and ways and means started reviewing the Gender and Development Plan and Budget proposed by Mayor Bona Fe de Vera for year 2024.

The Municipal Planning and Development Office said only P9,537,056.60 was utilized by the municipality for GAD in 2022 from the town’s P455,461,766.00 General Fund.

The budget for the Mental Health Care System will be sourced from the GAD by virtue of an ordinance passed  by Councilor Aldrin Soriano. (Joana de Vera)

San Nicolas town youth informed of their rights

PROTECTION of youth in San Nicolas town was enhanced following a meeting for the establishment of a federation that will empower the youth to protect and assert their rights and set programs and projects that will benefit them.

The meeting also tackled among others Republic Act 7610 or an Act providing for strong deterrence and special protection against child abuse, exploitation and discrimination.

The San Nicolas municipal government headed by Mayor Alicia Enriquez wants the youth of the town to know that there is a national law that protects them from abuse, exploitation and discrimination. (Rona Racca)

Issuance of citation tickets to all traffic violators sought 

THE Dagupan City Advisory Group for Transformation and Development (CAPTD) is pushing for stricter enforcement of traffic laws to any violators regardless of their status in life.

This was recommendation of the group in a recent meeting and called on the Public Order and Safety Office that a traffic violator must not be given special treatment and should be issued corresponding citation tickets and be made to pay fines for the violation.

Also discussed in the meeting is the implementation of curfew hours for minors in Dagupan. (Rona Racca)

2.2  million voters to vote in Pangasinan during BSKE 

PROVINCIAL Election Supervisor Atty Marino Salas told IFM Radio that 2.2 million voters will go to the polls in Pangasinan in October this year for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

Salas reminded Pangasinense, particularly those who intend to run for the Barangay and SK elections about the schedule of filing certificates of candidacy.

The Provincial Elections office is continuously coordinating with the PNP, AFP, NBI and PDEA concerning the securities that need to be implemented to secure the BSKE in the province. (Badz Agtalao)#
