PERSONS with serious cases of arthritis can look forward to more comfortable days as waking up to cold mornings is nearing its end.

Gener Quitlong of the PAGASA – Agno River Basin Flood Forecasting and Warning Center said northeast monsoon, locally called amihan, is blowing weaker, compared to previous weeks.

“Nasa transition period na tayo, ngunit kinakailangan munang i-clear lahat ng conditions para masabing nasa mainit na panahon na tayo”, Quitlong said.

He pointed out that that Amihan winds will soon be overtaken by winds coming from the Pacific Ocean for three to five consecutive days and subsequent rise in temperature.

Current average PAGASA readings are at 20 to 22 degrees celsius during the mornings, while day temperature is at 29 to 30 degrees celsius. The beginning of dog days starts when the temperature goes up.

Amihan, he said may continue to blow this week but it will be on its final leg.

Despite the ongoing transition, Quitlong warns of thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening.

Maghanda na po tayo, dahil magiging mas madalas na ang mga thunderstorms kapag mainit na ang panahon”, he said. (Ahikam Pasion)
