Fake money circulating in Bani reported 

IN a bid to thwart circulation of fake money bills in the town, a fake money detector scanner was installed at the wet section of the town’s market after the   Bani local government received that some local vendors were paid with  fraudulent bills by still unidentified persons.

An investigation is ongoing to determine if any of the victimized vendors can recognize any of the persons that paid with fake bills. The police cautioned vendors, local traders and other owners of businesses to carefully examine the money they are being paid with and asked them to report the passing off of fake bills immediately so the suspects can be tracked. 80 ex-CTG members are PNP housing beneficiaries 

EIGHTY former members of the  Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) from San Quintin benefited from the “Project Pabahay Proyekto ng Pulis BARANGAYanihan” of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office in Barangay Carayacan.

According to the 2nd Pangasinan Mobile Force Company, the housing units for the former CTGs were provided for their safety and welfare.

The project aims to provide permanent dwelling to the families in needs for their safety and welfare. (Rona Racca)

Bayambang signs MOA seeking to preserve its drug-free status 

THE Bayambang local government signed a memorandum of agreement with the privately-owned Odyssey Hub Outpatient Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center to help make the town drug-free.

Under the MOA that Bayambang Mayor Nina Jose-Quiambao signed, Odyssey shall serve drug dependents endorsed by the town to undergo drug rehabilitation program.

Odyssey is an accredited drug rehabilitation center by the Department of Health. (Ella Garcia)

R1MC is Dagupan’s referral, apex hospital

A memorandum of agreement  (MOA) was signed by Dagupan City government and the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) that will make the latter as referral apex hospital of Dagupan under Universal Health Care (UHC) Act.

The MOA, signed by Mayor Belen Fernandez and Dr. Joseph Roland Mejia, Chief director of R1MC, provides that all patients referred to R1MC by Dagupan City will be covered by the No Balance Billing  (NBB) Policy based on PhilHealth Circular No. 2020-0024, meaning  no fee will be charged if the patient is an indigent patient in accordance with the UHC Act.

Dagupan City is the first UHC Integration Site in Region 1 and also one of the sites to have signed MOA with a referral apex hospital. A separate MOA was signed made R1MC as a  molecular laboratory of Dagupan for COVID-19.  (Jhon Caranto)

Christmas celebration peaceful, orderly in Pangasinan 

THE celebration of Christmas in Pangasinan this year, the first after two years of the pandemic, was peaceful and orderly.

In a survey conducted by iFM Dagupan, people said the traditional merry-making on Christmas that the Filipinos are noted for, i.e., packed churches for the Misa de Gallo, reunions of families, exchange of gifts, Christmas parties and others.

The “pailaws” in every town and city are back as nightly sensations during the entire Christmas season.

However, more adults and elderlies were still apprehensive about the possible spread of  COVID-19 virus in big gatherings and during Christmas parties, aware that a surge in  pandemic had returned in other countries, like China. (Jon Caranto)
